Change of ISBN from 10 digits to 13 digits...
My first book is going for reprint now. As I was preparing for the reprint, I learned that effective January 1, 2007 the ISBN (International Standard Book Number) will change from 10 digits to 13 digits. ISBN-13 will be the exclusive ISBN to be used on books and book-related products after this date. The main reason for changing the 10-digit ISBN to 13-digit ISBN was to increase the numbering capacity of the ISBN system. Everyone who currently uses ISBNs will be affected by this change. This includes publishers, booksellers, libraries and educational institutions.
