It is NOT WHAT We Say, But HOW We Say It ...

A Civil Emergency (CE) Exercise was conducted this morning in Singapore. Based on the recent multiple terrorist attacks on the public transport networks in London and Madrid, the three hour emergency exercise, which started at 6.25 am, simulated simultaneous bomb blasts at the various locations as well as the release of a chemical agent at the Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station.

As I was watching the news this evening, various responses of the public were broadcast. One man when interviewed, said that the public should have been informed of the intended emergency exercise beforehand so that they were better prepared!

Frankly, I don't know where that man came from?! He was like asking the terrorists to inform him first before the attack, or asking the burglars to alert him first before going into his house! Hehehe.. it is funny.

Anyway, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. But, I believe what we say every day somehow reflects the length, depth and breath of our thinking. In communications, it is worthwhile to note that, it is NOT WHAT we say, but HOW we say it.
