Put gaming experience to good use!

Formulating strategies, deploying resources, defeating the opponents, scoring points, getting promoted to the next higher levels and winning the games are all part and parcel of most computer games which have gotten so many students addicted and parents worried.

With each passing game usually played with undivided attention and clear focus, day after day, the student gamers would have acquired most if not all of the skills mentioned above. It would be great and most beneficial if they know how to apply what they have learnt in gaming to their studies or school work. Until and unless this happens, the parents will always be apprehensive about their children getting involved with computer gamings. I hope the student gamers would take up the challenge to translate their gaming experience into something useful and relevant to their academic pursuits.

Students should also realise that there are many other functions of the personal computers (PCs) that have not been utilized fully. PCs are not just for gaming. Explore other useful functions and make full use of the PC for personal development and growth.
