Be Visible to your Boss!!!

"To climb the corporate ladder, make sure you are visible to your boss, not just responsible for your functions." ... Jonathan Ooi

Many people work hard at the workplace, but most, if not all their hard work goes unnoticed and unappreciated in many instances. This is especially true with technical people. They work behind the scenes and at the back end. Though the results of their work are being experienced and noticed at the front end, but they, being at the back end, are usually neglected when it comes to recognition and acknowledgement.

Technical positions are not in any way, less superior than those front end jobs. The only thing that is less superior about such technical people, generally speaking, is their communication skills and showmanship skills.

Therefore, they have to learn to make themselves more visible to their bosses, just in cases, their bosses do not pay attention or take notice of their accomplishment behind the scenes.

They have to learn to communicate their achievements to their bosses through verbal or written communications. This will keep the bosses abreast of what is going on in their work, what problems have been identified and solved. A simple practice like this will make themselves more visible to the bosses. This will put them on visible and level field when it comes to climbing the corporate ladder.

Hardship makes us more hardy...

For some, life might be full of hardship, mishap after mishap, and challenges seem to be knocking on their doors constantly. Take heart. Everything in life happens for a purpose or reason, understand the purpose, learn the lessons and move on in life as usual.

Hardship might not be that bad afterall. Positively speaking, hardship helps make us more hardy so that we can go through hard times without being disheartened. Challenges make us grow. At the end of it all, we can give glory to God! It is comforting to know that God never leaves or foresakes us when times are hard and tough. Cheer up, my friend! Trust in the Lord with all your heart..:)

Attitude is Everything...

"Our attitude solely determines the magnitude and altitude of our success." ... Jonathan Ooi

Unfortunately, not all in the multitude has the fortitude to overcome all the solitude and solicitude in life, and continue to scale to the highest altitude where the magnitude of success is the greatest!!!

No attempt, no failure, no success!!!

"Failure is but part and parcel of the life of a successful person." ... Jonathan Ooi

What is our attitude towards failure? That tells a lot about us.

It is said that Thomas Edison failed more than 1000 times before he invented the light bulb eventually! But, many of us take failure as if it is the end of the world! But, the truth is this, No attempt, no failure, no success!!! Like a friend of mine said, "Failure is not something to be shameful about." Instead, be proud of our failure because each time we fail, we are inching closer to our success.

Enjoy the failures and have a successful life! Cheers... :)

Progress towards Emotional Maturity!

"We can't control what others say and do to us, but we can control how we respond to it." ... Jonathan Ooi

How we respond to a situation determines the level of our emotional maturity.

We should compartmentalise our mind and insulate each compartment so that whatever happens to one does not infect or affect the others. Be cool and grow towards our emotional maturity!!!

Cheers... :)
